   20 世纪 60 年代从航天工程中发展起来的解决复杂结构系统振动问题的有效方法。美国W.C.赫梯等人提出此法,以后被推广应用于非线性振动和随机振动响应分析。模态综合是将一个复杂结构分解成若干个较为简单的子结构。在弄清各子结构振动特性的基础上,根据对接面上的协调条件将这些子结构合成一总体结构,然后利用各子结构的振动形态得出总体结构的振动形态。用此法进行系统固有特性的求解和动力响应分析,只需计算子结构的少数几个主模态(主振型),因此能有效地缩减自由度而不改变系统的物理本质。固定界面法和自由界面法用得较为成功。此法已用于航空航天、动力、车辆、船舶和海洋工程的动力分析,效果显著。
