在岩浆侵入体的不同部位存在温度梯度﹐一般边缘较低﹐中心较高。岩体中的温度梯度﹐会产生浓度梯度﹐使高熔点组分向低温区扩散﹐出现低温区高熔点组分集中现象。岩体边缘暗色矿物较多。扩散作用的大小以单位时间内质点扩散范围表示(平方厘米/秒)﹐称扩散系数﹐扩散系数与岩浆的温度成正相关﹐而与岩浆的黏度成反相关。
