性质:在氧的作用下聚合物长分子链分裂成较短部分的反应过程。暴露于空气中的聚合物制品吸收氧则发生氧化,形成氢过氧化物,进一步分解产生活性中心,形成自由基,继而发生自由基链式反应(即自动氧化过程)。氧化降解依聚合物分子结构的不同而有差异。氧的存在还能加剧光、热、辐射和机械力对聚合物的破坏作用,使其发生更为复杂的降解反应。氧化降解是聚合物制品物理机械性能变坏的主要原因。在聚合物中加入抗氧剂,可减缓氧化降解。
