| 吐根碱 emetine 一种异喹啉型生物碱。分子式C29H40N2O4。存在于巴西产吐根的根中。白色无定形粉末。熔点74℃，比旋光度  －50°（氯仿）。溶于乙醇、乙醚、丙酮，难溶于水。若将微量的吐根碱溶于数滴浓盐酸中，加入少许过氧化氢，即出现黄红色，这是试验吐根碱极灵敏的反应。呈强碱反应。吐根碱的盐酸盐对溶组织阿米巴滋养体有直接杀灭作用，可用于治疗急性阿米巴病。去氢吐根碱也有强大的杀死溶组织阿米巴滋养体的作用，且毒性反应较轻，已供临床使用。
