——阿底峡(982—1054)：意为“殊胜”，原名月藏，法名燃灯吉祥智。出生于东印度(现孟加拉国达卡地区)萨霍尔王室，曾任那烂陀寺、超岩寺住持。吐蕃王后裔古格王子意希沃、绛曲沃殷重礼聘，至阿里传播佛教3年。后又在卫藏传教9年，1054年卒于前藏聂塘，终年72岁。他摄显密两宗关要，合为修行次第。著有《菩提道炬论》等20多种著作，译著也很多，对后宏期藏传佛教的发展起过重大作用，尊为噶当派祖师。其所传之医学八部，对于西藏医学流派的形成也起了重要作用。因其一生对古代印度与我国藏传佛教文化的交流有重大的贡献，藏族一般尊称他为“觉沃杰”，意为尊者。阿底峡的佛学著作对格鲁派师祖宗喀巴佛学
