性质:含碳量小于0.25%的碳素钢:有时还含有少量锰(0.70%~1.00%)如20Mn,25Mn等。按质量分为普通钢和优质钢,前者的硫、磷含量分别不大于0.050%和0.045%,后者分别不大于0.030%~0.040%和0.035%~0.040%。低碳钢的特点是低强度和高塑性、高韧性及良好的加工成形性和焊接性能。适宜制作形状复杂和需要焊接的零件和构件。普通低碳钢一般不热处理而直接使用。优质低碳钢或不作热处理,或作表面硬化(如渗碳)处理。低碳钢的常用性能范围是:σb为294~490MPa,δ为25%~40%,HB为100~150。经冷加工后可提高强度、降低塑性和韧性。主要制作钢丝、钢板等,作建筑材料和结构件,表面硬化处理的优质低碳钢可制成各种中小型机械零件、齿轮、轴等。参见碳素结构钢。
