【异名】
滇紫参(《云南中草药选》)，小活血(《昆明民间常用草药》)，小红药(《红河中草药》)。
【来源】
为茜草科植物云南茜草的根。植物形态详"云南茜草"条。
【采集】
秋、冬季采挖，洗净，晒干。
【药材】
干燥根效条丛生，呈细圆柱形，微弯曲，长10～15厘米，直径约3～6毫米，表面红棕色，有细纵皱。断面黄红色或深红色。气微，味甘微苦。以粗壮，色红者为佳。 产云南。
【性味】
①《云南中草药》："甘，温。" ②《红河中草药》："微苦甘，凉。"
【功用主治】
补血活血，祛风除湿。治头晕，失眠，肺结核、吐血，风湿，跌打损伤，月经不调。 ①《昆明民间常用草药》："舒筋活血，祛瘀生新。" ②《云南中草药》："温经通络，调养气血。" ⑧《红河中草药》："凉血止血，通经行血，祛瘀止痛。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，O.3～1两；或浸酒。
【选方】
①治头昏头晕：小红参、青洋参、大黑药等分研末，蒸鸡蛋兑红糖、猪油吃。 ②治失眠：小红参，红糖，水煎服。 ③治肺结核：小红参、小白芨各一荫。研末和蜂蜜三两蒸食。每日三次，两天服完。 ④治内伤吐血，痰中带血：小红参、叶下花各二钱。研末，开水送服或水煎服，红糖为引。 ⑤治经闭，月经不调，带下，产后关节痛：小红参三两，煮猪排骨(淡盐)吃。 ⑥治风湿，跌打损伤疼痛：小红参，水煎或泡酒服。(①方以下出《昆明民间常用草药》) ⑦治咯血、吐血，月经不调，腹水：小红参三至五钱，煎服。 ⑧治肾炎：小红参五钱，水线草三钱，煎服。 ⑨治颜面神经麻痹：小红参、女金芦、泽兰各五两，泡酒五市斤。浸渍半月后服，每次20～40毫升，日服一次。(⑦方以下出《红河中草药》)
