于1956年建校，1983年创办职业高中，十几年来为社会培养了护理、药剂、检验等医护专业及文秘、计算机、商业经营、城市公交等专业中等技术人才达1200余人，他们现已成为企事业单位的骨干，正在本岗位上发挥着应有的作用。
占地面积13000平方米，有教学楼、实验楼各一座，校舍面积14000平米，楼外有200米跑道环绕的小足球常楼内有电化教室、语音教室、计算机房、基护、药理、解剖、微寄、生物、化学等实验室。楼内还设有专业模拟室、形体训练室、多功能厅、演播室等，学校有为教育教学管理服务的校长办公系统、联网系统、复印机、摄像机、录像机、大屏幕放映机等现代化设备，为教育教学提供充足的条件。
今年职业教育进行布局调整，目前已将我校与北京中医药学校合并，拟在年底内争办骨干校。届时，合并后的学校会有更大的发展与变化，将成为高级重点校之一。
招生专业与培养目标：
保健专业：培养具有营养保健知识与技能，掌握营养配餐，营养分析技术，饮食疗法或保健食品销售，健身器材使用与销售的中等专业技术人才。
现代文秘专业：培养从事文秘工作，具有一定的应用写作，文书处理与档案管理能力，以及英语会话，计算机办公操作能力的中等专业技术人才。
计算机软件与应用专业：培养具有计算机操作，网络使用等方面的应用型中等专业技术人才。
市场营销专业：培养有良好职业道德掌握营销知识与技能的商业服务人员。
毕业去向：
1．保健专业人员毕业后，向机关、企事业单位、公司、宾馆、商厦、饭店等单位推荐。
2．现代文秘专业人员毕业后，向企事业单位、公司、机关单位推荐。
3．计算机软件与应用专业人员毕业后，向计算机公司及使用计算机的单位推荐。
4．市场营销专业人员毕业后，向商厦、购物中心推荐。
5．毕业生毕业后，本校可以提供进修大专的机会。
