兰入药多用建兰花，临床常用以治疗久咳、胸闷，腹泻等症。建兰花花色不同；药性亦有区别。如白兰花善于解郁，青兰花偏于调气血，黄兰花可止血。墨兰花能医青光眼。建兰根能顺气、和血、利湿、消肿，可治肠风下血、妇女血崩及外科跌打损伤等病症。
梅其花、叶、梗、根、果皆可入药。老年入常食小米梅花粥，有益气养胃舒肝之作用。用梅露代茶饮，可清暑、明目、生津、除烦；乌梅对治久咳、久泻等症也有一家的功效。
竹竹叶有清热除烦、生津利尿之效；竹沥水临床常用于治疗中风、高热等；竹茹有清热凉血、化痰止吐之功效。竹还有较强的清热豁痰、凉心定情作用，对热病神昏，小儿惊风等症治疗效果显著。
菊菊中含有腺碱、胆碱、氨基酸及微量维生素等，对大肠杆菌、链球菌等都有杀伤能力。菊花能显著扩张冠脉。增加冠脉血流量，提高心脏收缩力。
