Six novel chiral multicarbonyl compounds(6a～6f) in yields of 50%～70% were synthesized by the asymmetric Michael addition-elimination reaction of chiral 5-(S)-5-(l-menthyloxy)-3,4-dihalo-2(5H)-furanones with some carbonyl nucleophilic reagents containing active methylene.
