糖酵解途径、柠檬酸循环以外的另一个葡萄糖分解途径的磷酸葡萄糖酸途径(磷酸戊糖途径)中的第一个酶ec1.1.1.49。很早就称为6-磷酸葡糖脱氢酶(zwischenferment),它催化6-磷酸葡萄糖脱氢,形成6-磷酸葡糖酸。以nadp为电子受体。整个反应的平衡是趋向于nadph的生成,后者用于脂肪酸等的还原性生物合成反应。本酶存在于细胞的可溶性部分。
