【来源】
为远志科植物宽叶远志的根。
【植物形态】
宽叶远志，又名：阔叶远志、西伯利亚远志、大远志、卵叶远志、女儿红、青玉丹草。 多年生草本，高8～20厘米，全体密被细柔毛。根圆柱形，弯曲，有支根。茎丛生，绿褐色。单叶互生，卵形至卵状拉针形，长8～20毫米，宽3～6毫米，先端尖，全缘，基部渐狭，呈短叶柄，有中脉而无侧脉。总状花序顶生或腋生；花绿白色，萼片5，前面1萼片卵状披针形，呈囊状，两侧2萼片较大，花瓣状，长圆形，后面2萼片同前面1萼片，唯一侧稍狭；花瓣3，下部合生，两侧的花瓣呈倒卵形或匙形，中央一花瓣较大，呈囊状，近顶端处具有流苏的附属物；雄蕊8，花丝愈合呈鞘状；雌蕊1，子房2室，花柱弯曲，柱头面呈舌状。蒴果卵圆形而扁，长宽均4毫米，先端微凹，边缘翅状，有缘毛，基部有宿存萼片，成熟时沿边缘开裂。种子长圆形，微扁，黑色。花期5月。果期6月。 生向阳山坡或砂质干燥的平地。分布东北、华北、西北及西南等地。 本植物的根亦作远志使用，参见"远志"条。

甘辛苦，寒。 ①《滇南本草》："甘，微温。" ②《云南中草药》："辛苦，寒。"
【功用主治】
滋阴清热，祛痰，解毒。治痨热咳嗽，白带，腰酸，肺炎，胃痛，痢疾，跌打损伤，风湿疼痛，疔疮。 ①《滇南本草》："补肝脾肾，滋阴血，健体润肌，止面寒腹痛，止痨热咳嗽，妇人白带，腰酸，头眩，耳鸣。男妇虚损要药。" ②《昆明药植调查报告》："破血，解诸疮毒。治牙疳烂臭，祛痰。" ③《云南中草药》："清热解毒，止痛。治跌打损伤，风湿疼痛，小儿肺炎，痢疾，慢性腹泻，胃痛，疔疮。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱。外用：捣敷。
【选方】
治妇人产后蓐痨症，发热出汗，饮食无味：甜远志(去皮、心)干用五钱，鲜用一两。用母鸡一只，去肠，将药入内煮烂，空心食之。(《滇南本草》)
