Treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion with lumbar instability through spinal fusion

[Objective]To investigate diagnosis of lumbar instability,segment of spinal canal decompression and principle of fixation and fusion.

Methods 32cases of lumbar stenosis with lumbar spine instability and 21cases lumbar spondylolisis(I～III degrees)were treated with pedicle screw fixation combined with intervertebral fusion with one or two Telamon cages.

So far, the definition as well as knowledge to this disease have no standards, the diagnoses and treatments of lumbar spine instability also have different opinions.

Objective: Evaluate the effects of the spinal fusion and internal fixation on the degeneration of the adjacent segments, guided the clinical treatment of degenerative lumbar unsteadiness, suggested what is the most important in the clinical operation and which segment should be fused and fixed, guided patients how to do functional exercise.

Object: To prospectively compare the clinical and radiographic results of adult instability of lower lumbar treated with posterior lumbar instrumentation and interbody fusion utilizing iliac crest or interbody fusion cage.
