在骨折处施加外部压力，即用沙袋加压或用厚敷料覆盖伤部，外加胶布加压固定。适用于胸部创伤多根多处骨折(连枷胸)纠正胸壁软化、反常呼吸的治疗，也可用于静脉或小动脉出血的救治，淋巴水肿急性期的治疗，表浅部位血肿、囊肿、脓肿抽吸后局部压迫可缓解下肢静脉曲张症状。
