    铬酸钾化学式K2CrO4,分子量194.20。黄色斜方晶体,密度2.732g/cm3,熔点968.3℃。溶于水成深黄色溶液,溶液中性,不溶于酒精及乙醚中。性毒。有氧化性。水溶液中加入硫酸后溶液变成橙红色,这是由于生成了重铬酸钾的原故
2K2CrO4+H2SO4 =K2CrO7+K2SO4 +H2O
   铬酸钾加热变成红色,冷却后又重新变为黄色。用做氧化剂,媒染剂和金属防锈剂。还用于银、钡等的微量分析、鞣革、制药等。把磨细的铬铁矿跟氢氧化钾、石灰石一起煅烧后,再加入硫酸钾溶液,便可制得铬酸钾。
