自我调节(self一regulation)(l)一般指个体受到环境的作用而促进原有心理状态的变化和创新以适应外界环境的过程。(2)皮亚杰发生认识论术语。指个体受到环境的作用而促进原有心理状态的变化和创新以适应外界环境的过程。皮亚杰从生物学、物理学和控制论中借用这一词汇，以说明有机体在生长过程中对环境的适应过程。上体对环境的适应是一个主动的连续不断的主客体互动作用的过程。主体通过自我调节将环境因素纳入原有认知结构，加强和丰富主体的认知结构，或主动改变或创新原有的认知结构，以适应环境，实现主客体之间的平衡。皮亚杰认为，平衡化( equixibration)是心理发展的一种最高原理，也是决定心理或智慧发展的一个重要的因素。它主要通过自我调节作用，包括同化与顺应的调节、主体结构中各亚系统的调节、部分经验与总体经验的调节等三种调节方式，以实现心理或智慧结构的不断变化和发展。 (高申春撰牟丈博审)
