明钱宰撰。宰字子予，一字伯均，会稽人。元至正中中甲科。亲老不赴公车，教授於乡。明初徵修《礼乐书》，寻以病去。洪武六年授国子助教。以赋《早朝诗》忤旨，遣归。二十七年。又召修《书传会选》。书成，优赉，加博士致仕。事迹附见《明史·赵俶传》。考集中《金陵形胜论》，末署“洪武二十七年六月国子博士致仕钱宰进”。是致仕即在奉召之年。盖留京师者不及一岁也。宰学有原本，在元末已称宿儒，韩宜可、唐之淳皆其弟子。其诗吐辞清拔，寓意高远，刻意古调，不屑为艳仄之体。徐泰《诗谈》譬以霜晓鲸音，自然洪亮。古文虽非所擅长，而谨守法度，亦无卑冗之习。其集《明史·艺文志》、焦竑《国史经籍志》俱未著录．则在明代行世已稀．今从《永乐大典》中采掇编排。参以诸选本所录，里为六卷，以备明初之一家。宰本浙东人，集以“临安”名者，盖自以为吴越武肃王十四世孙，从其旧贯也。
