Objective To investigate the changes in serum insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1) in patients with chronic severe hepatitis B and hypoglycemia and its relationship to the fasting blood glucose and serum insulin, liver functions and respiratory quotient(RQ).

Methods: The contents of proinsulin (PI), plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1), and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) of the normal nonobese group (group Ⅰ, n=15), normal obese group (group Ⅱ,n=15), nonobese PCOS patients group (group Ⅲ,n=33), and obese PCOS patients group (group Ⅳ,n=36) were determined.
