To study the effect of some cytokines on placenta ripening in small-tail winter sheep, we utilize liquid-phase competition method and equilibrium method to measure the contents of serum interleukin 1β and 6 (IL-1β and IL-6), and tumour necrosis factor (TNF) in nonpregnant sheep (n=5) and sheep at day 85,105,125 and 140 after gestation and 150 (at parturition) (n=13).
