【性状】
本品为淡黄色或黄色软膏。
【鉴别】
取本品约0.5g，加水4ml ，在水浴上加热，搅拌使硼酸溶解，放冷至室 温，水溶液显硼酸盐的鉴别反应（附录Ⅲ）。
【检查】
应符合软膏剂项下有关的各项规定（附录Ⅰ F）。
【含量测定】
取本品约2g，精密称定，加甘露醇3g与新沸过的冷水20ml，置水浴 上加热，搅拌使硼酸溶解，放冷至室温，加酚酞指示液3 滴，用氢氧化钠滴定液(0.1mo l/L)滴定至显粉红色。每1ml氢氧化钠滴定液(0.1mol/L)相当于6.183mg的H3BO3。
