性质:又称切段纤维。化学纤维长纤维束被切断或拉断成相当于各种天然纤维长度的纤维。也可用天然纤维如晶须及石棉。短纤维界限,长度一般为35~150mm。按天然纤维的规格可分为棉型,毛型,地毯型和中长型等短纤维。它们可以纯纺,也可和不同比例的天然纤维或其他纤维混纺制成纱条,织物和毡。例如,将通用级沥青碳纤维切成150mm长,直径为15μm,强度为800GPa,模量41GPa的碳纤维,与酚醛系碳纤维(长度70mm,强度200MPa,直径14μm)以8:2的比例混合,制得稳定均整的纱条。编织成各种形状的织物或短切成纤维用于复合材料如水泥、铝合金的增强体。
