| 基金会 foundation 对兴办、维持或发展某项事业而储备的资金或专门拨款进行管理的机构。一般为民间非盈利性组织。宗旨是通过无偿资助，促进社会的科学、文化教育事业和社会福利救助等公益性事业的发展。基金会的资金具有明确的目的和用途。基金会在20世纪蓬勃发展。1900年的卡内基基金会和洛克菲勒基金会最有名。1936年成立的福特基金会，由福特家族资助，拥有数十亿美元。已成为世界最大的基金会。其他世界性的大型基金会还有： 约翰·古根海姆纪念基金会、丹福思基金会、凯洛格基金会等。80年代以后，中国基金会也获得了长足的发展，国务院常务会议在1988年9月通过了基金会管理办法， 对基金会的性质、建立条件、筹款方式、基金的使用和管理等一系列事项作出了规定。中国已建立的基金会有中国老年基金会、中国残疾人福利基金会、中国福利基金会、宋庆龄基金会、中国青少年发展基金会等。 |
