多年生草本。茎高1m，密被柔毛。下部茎生叶为二回三出复叶，有长叶柄；各回小叶均有明显小柄，顶生小叶宽菱形，5~10cm ,宽3.5~9cm，3深裂，侧生小时无柄或柄很短；边缘重锯齿，两面被柔毛。花单性异株，排成圆锥花序；退化雄蕊2深裂；子房被灰色绒毛。花期7~8月，果期9月。生于林缘灌丛、山坡疏林或草地中。主产黑龙江、河北、山西、内蒙古。
