两种或两种以上不同单糖分子组成的多糖。自然界存在的杂多糖通常只含有两种不同的单糖，并且大都与脂类或蛋白质结合，构成结构十分复杂的糖脂和糖蛋白。常见的杂多糖如下：①透明质酸，由D－葡萄糖醛酸和N－乙酰－D－葡萄糖胺组成，分布于连接组织中,具有润滑和在组织中吸着水分的功能；②硫酸软骨素A和C，由D－葡萄糖醛酸和N－乙酰－D－半乳糖胺－4-O－硫酸酯组成，分布于软骨和皮肤中，具有贮存钙质、形成软骨和骨架的功能；③硫酸软骨素B,由L－艾杜糖醛酸和N－乙酰－D－半乳糖胺－4-O－硫酸酯组成；④肝素,由D－葡萄糖醛酸和N－硫酸－D－葡萄糖胺组成，存在于肝、心脏、淋巴组织和血液中，可做抗凝血剂；⑤γ－球蛋白，由N－乙酰－己糖胺、D－甘露糖和 D－半乳糖组成，存在于血液中，可作抗体；⑥血型物质,由D－葡萄糖胺、D－半乳糖胺、L－岩藻糖和D－半乳糖组成,存在于细胞表面,特别是红血球细胞表面,具有形成特殊血型的功能。
