This paper describes a study of use of aluminous slag produced during aluminium smelting with the addition of lime and fluorite as new type desulphidizer for iron smelting.

The results show that the desulphuring ratio ofmalleable cast iron and cast steel can reach 30～40%with the compound solid desul-phidizer of lime,aluminous slag and fluoride.
