性质：白色粉末。熔点140℃。溶解度（g/100ml）：水74.6，甲醇77.7，乙醇11.7。不溶解于有机溶剂。

制备方法：以1，17-二氨基-9-氮杂十七烷（简称三辛胺）和S-甲基-异硫脲硫酸盐为原料进行反应则得。1.辛三胺的制备 将辛二胺冷却凝固，小心地分次加入浓硝酸，至物料全部熔融。开动搅拌，导入氮气加热缓慢升温，待料温升至160℃，水已蒸完。用水吸收反应过程中释放的氨，待料温升至205℃时，保持反应5h。反应毕，自然降温至80℃，停通氮气。加入碱液，使胺游离出来，分去水层，用苯萃取、收集苯萃取液，先脱苯，后减压蒸馏，收集110℃（1.46kPa）馏分即为辛二胺，再收取210℃（0.4kPa）馏分即为辛二胺，再收集210℃（0.4kPa）馏分即为辛三胺，冷却呈无色蜡状物。2.双胍辛乙酸盐的制备 将辛三胺10g，S-甲基异硫脲硫酸盐14g加水200ml，加热回流1h。冷至室温，加入3N硫酸12ml而得硫酸双胍盐沉淀，过滤，用50%乙醇洗涤沉淀物，合并滤液洗液浓缩而得硫酸双胍盐。再将它溶于计算量的乙酸水溶液中而得双胍辛乙酸盐。配制成3%膏剂，25%液剂。

用途：双胍辛乙酸盐是新的广谱杀菌剂，对农业和园艺的主要真菌有很高的生长抑制活性，其作用方式是抑制类脂的生物合成。主要用于防治谷类种子和柑桔贮藏防腐，如抑制青绿霉、酸腐、黑腐、蒂腐等非常有效，特别对酸腐病害具有特效。
