With a comprehensive consideration of facility cost,transportation cost and inventory cost of the distribution network in the supply chain,under the restriction of service levels at the distribution centers,the paper proposes an integrated optimization programming model of bi-level distribution network with one supplier,multi distribution centers and multi retailers under stochastic demand.

Based on the analysis and summary of a great deal of relative researches,the paper presents the definition and features of the inventory-transportation integrated optimization problem and points out some weakness and lacks in the research.

On the integrated optimization problem, because it needs to integrate inventory cost and transportation cost into the same objective function, the constraints will be more complex and difficult to describe accurately the system, which determines the complexity of the problem, consequently, exploring an excellent algorithm to the problem has become the major difficulties and research hot spots.
