This article analyzes different "anchoring lengths of steel anchor bolts"chosen from "Design Handbook",according to the calculation principles of "The Design Specifications"in effect through engineering example,presents concrete suggestions,and can be used for reference in design.

A corresponding calculating formula on the ultimate anchoring strength of this material and a suggested table in construction of anchoring length are put forward.

Then the design of anchoring length by reliability analysis is proposed.

On the basis of ensuring the strength of the anchor chain,the calculating methods for anchor-hold,the number of anchors needed and the length of the anchor chain are presented.

Assuming that a spindle shape body is made from around rods with rods destruction, and based on upper limit of plastic limit equilibrium in soil body, the problem about stability of deep excavation slopes by anchor and determine of anchor length and anchor spacing is studied.

Attentions are paid to the problems,such as different anchor length,anchor space,shoring obliquity and surface thickness.

Combining the engineering example,the in- fluences of the design parameters,including excavation angle,anchor body diameter,horizontal inclination angle of anchor and spacing between anchors on the anchor length and internal ove.
