是一门研究教育与政治的辩证关系及其运动发展规律的学科，着重探讨教育与政治的区别和联系及二者协调发展的客观规律。它酝酿于本世纪初到二战期间，英国学者f.克拉克于1923年出版了《教育政治学文集》，我国的杨贤江出版了《新教育大纲》。学科正式形成于50年代末、60年代初，美国伊士顿于1957年发表了《政治系统中合法教育的功能》，d.曼纳也参与了教育政治学的研究。现在国内的研究一般包括；教育与政治的基本关系、教育与政治主体及其行为的各种关系、教育民主化、教育的国际化与国际政治的关系等。
