完成火箭振动特性试验用的大型实验设施。它由塔体和火箭支撑系统、液体加注系统、火箭激振系统等组成。利用这种试验塔能够对大型多级液体火箭进行全箭振动特性试验，检查火箭结构的完整性，为控制系统设计和纵向耦合振动等研究提供数据。塔体一般为梁式桁架结构，塔内的火箭支撑系统有两种形式：一种是将全箭弹性地悬吊起来,另一种是将全箭竖立在气垫或油-气支撑系统上。两种支撑形式都能充分满足火箭飞行时的边界条件。在试验中，通过液体加注系统用等重量的加注或泄出的方法，模拟火箭飞行中各个时间箭内推进剂的存量。火箭激振系统具有成套的激振设备。激振器安装在火箭四周的平台上或悬挂在平台之间，在塔内可选择多至40～50个激振器位置。试验塔配有测量与数据采集和处理系统。世界上规模较大的火箭振动试验塔能将起飞重量约1820吨的航天飞机按垂直状态自由地支撑起来，进行振动特性试验。
