tactile displays
触觉显示器(taetile displays)利用触觉通道向人传递信息的装置。触觉显示器通常采用电脉冲或机械振动作为刺激。电脉冲是通过电极来刺激人的皮肤。电极可以分布在人的不同部位，分别代表不同的信号。用振动也可以在皮肤上造成刺激，组成不同的信号。电刺激比较强，作为告警信号比较有利，但易于适应，因此不宜长时间使用。振动刺激适应性小，适合长时间使用。手触摸也是用触觉来传递信息的一种方式。例如，当控制器按形状编码时，便可凭手触摸进行辨别。触觉显示器目前主要用于视觉和听觉通道负担过重或这两个感觉通道的使用受到限制的场合。此外，它对盲、聋人有很大帮助。例如，盲文使盲人能够阅读，助听器使聋人能够利用有声语言。由于微电子技术的发展，目前己有几种将视觉信息转换成盲人可直接感知的触觉信号的显示装置。 (许百华撰朱祖样审)
