| 初始条件敏感性 initial conditions，sensitive dependence on 非线性现象的一个普遍特征。1963年E.洛伦茨研究气象预报问题时首先发现。在经典物理学中根深蒂固的观念是动力学系统的行为取决于系统的动力学方程和初始条件。一旦有了确定的动力学方程，动力学系统的行为即它的运动和变化完全由初始条件确定；初始条件相近，动力学系统的行为也接近。这一决定论信条在天体运行、物体运动等许多常规的科学问题的确起过重要的作用。然而一些非线性动力学系统表现出与之明显的歧离。洛伦茨提出一个简化的气象模型，这个模型简化到只剩3个必不可少的变量的非线性微分方程组，其中不含有任何外加随机因素，利用计算机计算天气的变化。用同一组初值输入计算机，重复计算，两次计算的差别仅在于一次采用的初值比另一次只少最后一位有效数字。本来预料这点微小差别不会影响计算结果，但是随着计算进程，两次计算结果差别越来越大，最后导致全无相似之处。这表明个别结果对于初始条件的敏感依赖行为。后来人们发现许多非线性系统在一定条件下都具有初始条件敏感性，它是非线性动力系统的普遍行为，是确定性系统内在随机性的反映。这种内在随机性的研究导致一门全新的学科诞生，这就是混沌学。它正在进入化学、生物学、地学、医学乃至社会科学的广阔领域。 |
