| 南平市 位于中国福建省中部偏北、闽江上游。1990 年人口46.70万。面积2652.86平方千米。汉初属南越国。汉建安元年（196）设南平县，寓平定南疆之意。西晋太康初年改为延平县。唐武德三年（620）设延平军。五代称延平镇。宋为剑浦县。元大德六年（1302）复称南平县。1912年撤县设延平府，1913年裁府复设南平县。1956年11月析南平县设南平市，1960年1月南平县并入南平市。野生植物有杉、松、毛竹、黄杨、楠、樟 、花梨等 。南平县是中国重点竹区，有竹林422万亩，占全国竹区总面积的10.5％。1996年林业部命名10个县市为竹子之乡，南平是其中之一。1995年竹业出口创汇1.03亿元。矿产资源有铜、铁、钨、石英砂、石灰石、大理石、重晶石、瓷土、铌、钽等。森林资源丰富，造纸业发达。名胜古迹主要有九峰山、茫荡山、溪源峡谷、石佛山、明翠阁、开平寺。 |
