  准确和有效的调度需要长期积累资料,以研究负荷的变化(季节、日、时),并摸索各种负荷和气温、生产发展、生活习惯以及其他社会因素的相应关系,通过时间序列、相关分析等统计方法,求得负荷变化规律,进行负荷预测。此外,城市燃气往往由多种气源构成,而一个气源厂又往往有多种制气设施,输配系统也由各级管道和输配设施组成。因此,还应根据预测所得的负荷,运用系统工程等原理,进行系统的分析计算和比较,确定最合理的调度方案,以节约能源,增加效益,提高服务质量。
  
  在城市供燃气系统的局部发生事故,或进行施工、检修而需要局部切断管道时,调度中心必须及时作出相应的工况分析,发布紧急调度指令,缩小影响范围。为此,调度中心应保有关于气源设备、管道和输配设备等运转性能的完整记录,以供随时检索。
