摩周西餐厅源于米迦勒先生的一个梦，他来自于美国北达科他州 ，在中国天津工作、生活了15年。被改变后不伦不类的如炸芝士三文治和甜比萨汁之类的所谓西餐，使他以及所有在津的欧美人士无法接受，他一直想把故乡的饮食文化带到天津。1997年12月31日在天津五大道之一的睦南道，摩周西餐厅(原broadway cafe)开业了。
