性质:又称低层大气化学。大气科学的分支学科之一,研究近地面约10km内的化学现象及化学物质的分布、迁移、转化等规律的科学。对流层中有一定量的气体组分和水汽,还有自然界产生的和人类活动产生的各种化学污染物。对流层是天气现象和化学物质变化较为复杂的大气层,与人类及一切生命活动密切相关。如光化学烟雾的形成机制、酸雨产生的原因与危害、温室效应的原由和某些重要污染物如重金属汞和铅、农药DDT和六六六、多氯联苯等的环境化学行为与生态效应等。引起全球性大气污染,导致地球气候变化和生态危害的,大多数都是起因于对流层化学组成受干扰而发生变化,打破了原有的动态平衡所致。近年来正组织国际合作,进行全球对流层化学污染物的研究,为了解对流层的自然功能因化学物质的影响及其变化、评价人类活动造成全球环境影响的程度和趋势,以便提出相应的对策,共同保护好地球环境。
