      集中一定的炮兵火力,对进攻之敌进行的局部的歼灭性打击。是防御战斗中灵活运用炮兵火力,积极打击敌人的一种战术手段。目的是杀伤敌有生力量,毁坏其兵器,挫败其局部进攻。
  
  炮火反击的时机和目标,通常是在敌人进攻准备时,打击集结、开进、准备冲击的敌坦克、步兵战车(装甲输送车)和步兵,及威胁最大的炮兵和战术导弹兵;战斗过程中打击占领表面阵地立足未稳之敌和敌人的指挥系统。炮火反击通常预先计划,也可临时组织。使用的兵力一般是数个炮兵营。要求精确测定目标位置,抓住时机,迅速开火,以突然猛烈的火力打敌措手不及。1952年10月17日,在上甘岭战役中,韩国军步兵约两个营进攻537.7高地北山阵地,在向冲击出发地运动时,中国人民志愿军集中两个炮兵营的火力实施炮火反击,使韩国军遭受重大伤亡,被迫停止了进攻。
