      用砌块和砂浆砌筑成的墙体,可作工业与民用建筑的承重墙和围护墙。根据砌块尺寸的大小分为小型砌块、中型砌块和大型砌块墙体。按材料分有混凝土、轻集料混凝土和加气混凝土砌块墙体,及利用各种工业废渣、粉煤灰、煤矸石等制成的无熟料水泥煤渣混凝土砌块墙体和蒸汽养护粉煤灰硅酸盐砌块墙体等。小型砌块尺寸较小,重量较轻,型号多种,使用较灵活,适应面广;但小型砌块墙体多为手工砌筑,施工劳动量较大。中型、大型砌块的尺寸较大,重量较重,适于机械起吊和安装,可提高劳动生产率;但型号不多,不如小型砌块灵活。
  
  在工程设计中,不仅要求砌块尺寸灵活,适应性好,还要求砌块制作方便,施工时吊装快。这就要求砌块的类型和规格应较少,而在建筑的立面上和平面上可排列出不同的组合,使墙体符合使用要求。如在住宅房屋中,当采用混凝土空心中型砌块墙体时,将房屋的每层墙体分三皮为宜。
  
  对于承重的砌块墙体,需根据荷载大小选定砌块和砂浆的标号。由于单个砌块的高度大于或远大于单块砖的厚度,因而砌块砌体内砌块的抗压强度能够得到较充分的发挥。砌块砌体内灰缝的数量较少,砂浆的强度对砌体抗压强度的影响也较小。承重的砌块墙体除须保证抗压强度和高厚比要求外,还应满足热工及构造要求。为了保证砌块墙体的受力性能和加强其整体性,应使墙体的灰缝横平竖直、砂浆饱满、密实,上下层砌块相互错缝搭砌。墙体的转角和纵、横墙交接处要彼此搭砌;如搭砌有困难,则设置一定数量的钢筋网或拉结条予以拉结。必要时在房屋的转角和内、外墙交接处也可采用多孔砌块,以便设置构造柱(见墙板结构),这样既加强了房屋的整体刚度,也有利于抗震。构造柱应与圈梁或房屋的其他水平构件连接(见砌块建筑施工)。
