    中国河西走廊三大内陆河流之一。位于甘肃省西北部。源出青海省祁连山脉西段疏勒南山和托来南山之间的沙果林那穆吉木岭。向西北流,经过音德尔达坂东北坡罗沟转北流入河西走廊。谷地宽15~20千米,海拔3800米左右,河道分散、曲折。河流向北流经托来南山,将山地切割成数百米深的疏勒峡谷,两岸山峰高峻,谷地长65千米,平均宽7千米。经昌马、玉门镇、饮马场后,折向西流,接纳踏实河、党河后,入敦煌市西北的哈拉湖,尾闾为间歇性河道、消没于新疆维吾尔自治区东部边境的盐沼之中 。长550千米,流域面积3.9万平方千米。
