Two main types of schemes are used in shunt Active Power Filters(APF)control:the conventional control scheme which is based on detecting and calculating the harmonic and reactive currents of nonlinear loads,and the direct ac main current control scheme which does not require the harmonic and reactive currents to be sensed and computed.
