| 金粟兰科 Chloranthaceae 双子叶植物纲木兰亚纲的一科。草本、灌木或小乔木。叶对生，叶柄基部常合生，具小托叶。花小，两性或单性 ，无花被（雪香兰属的雌花中有浅杯状3齿裂的花被）；两性花具雄蕊1或3，着生于子房的一侧，雌蕊1，由一心皮所组成，子房下位，1室，含一颗下垂的直生胚珠；单性花，其雄花多数，雄蕊1；雌花少数。核果卵形或球形。在草珊瑚属木质部只有管胞而无导管。该科有5属约70种，分布于热带和亚热带。中国产3属17种，多分布于长江以南各省，其中西南地区最多。金粟兰科植物有较好的药用价值，如金粟兰属的许多种类具有抗菌消炎、活血散瘀、解毒消肿、祛湿散寒等作用，用以治疗多种疾病。草珊瑚属的草珊瑚全草入药，还可用于治疗癌症。有些种类的根状茎可提取芳香油 。有些种类为庭园观赏植物。金粟兰的花极香，用以熏茶，称珠兰茶。
