In order to mitigate the effects of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation error in accurate wireless location positioning system, by analyzing some new NLOS error mitigation algorithms, a novel combined TOA-based location estimation algorithm with the methods of residual ranking and pseudo range scale restrained is presented.

将大量需要确定位置的恒星（被测星），跟少量已按绝对测定方法确定了位置的恒星一起，进行联合观测，求出二者的位置差。然后根据已知的恒星的位置，求出被测星的位置。这种观测方法称为相对测定，又称较差测定。这种方法可以用来测定大量恒星的位置，但精度不高，不能据以编制基本星表。
