| 船舶交通管理系统 vessel trafficmanagement system 在一定水域内用以保证航行船舶安全和效率的管理系统。英文缩写为VTMS。作为船舶交通管理内容最早出现的应为助航的标志，早在公元前就已应用。进入场20世纪，船舶交通管理系统已逐步实现了现代化。1948年英国利物浦港首次使用了港口雷达和无线电话引导船舶雾中进港。60年代后，世界许多大港在港区与航道中普遍设置了雷达系统。70年代船舶交通管理系统已发展到国际航道和沿海水域。世界已有150多个不同规模的船舶交通管理系统。
