Based on the mechanics of mining subsidence ,the basic formula which is applied to subsidence amount calculation of overlying strata in coal mining is set by making use of the concept of “Simulated Load”and the theory of limitless elastic foundation slab, and it affords mining subsidence forecast the theoretical basis.

Taking as an example the engineering practice in construction of pavement to take heavy duty vehicles in a foreign port, the pavement of this type was analyzed with the finite element method for loads on spatial elastic foundation slabs.

The primary analysis was done on the experiment results and the site experience of vibration test on the elastic foundation slab was concluded.
