在浙江省杭州市钱塘江边闸口。从塔的形制和细部做法判断，为五代吴越国末期的作品。塔的细部做法忠实地模仿当时木构式样，是研究五代、宋初江南地区建筑形制的实物资料。
塔由白色巨石分段凿成，实心,每段由两块拼成,上下十字错缝，平面正八角形，塔身九层，外形仿木楼阁塔式样,造型秀丽，雕刻精美。（图1）。
塔的基座雕作须弥山。上立须弥座。座身各面满刻经文。座上置塔身，每层塔身转角都有圆形倚柱，其中四面隐出槏柱，居中辟门；另四面除二层刻经文外，都刻菩萨和佛像。每面隐出阑额，额面上刻"七朱八白"图案，额上置五铺作单抄单昂斗栱（图2）。转角铺作用圆栌斗。补间铺作每面二朵，用抹圆角的"讹角栌斗"。斗栱不出耍头，属南方做法。遮椽板下隐出平,未见于他例。每层屋面起翘平缓舒展,戗脊头上皆立角神。每层又挑出平坐，平坐斗栱的遮椽板下则隐出支条。塔顶有铁制塔刹，覆莲为座，上置宝珠、仰莲，有相轮七级，现已残破。
