This paper presents the main architecture of a vehicle monitoring and dispatch system,which is recently developed with three kernel technologies,which are GPS receivers,the GSM communication network and the GIS software, as its technical basis.

The general scheme of the online vehicle long distance monitoring system is designed based on the ex-isting GSM mobile communication network,and the laboratory research platform is created to analyze the long distance transmission characteristics of signals,and at the same time,long distance acquisition of engine state signals is done.

The design of an intelligent monitor system for distribution transformer based on GSM communication is introduced.

Aimed at several communication means used between the Remote Terminal Unit(RTU) for hydrological and central station transmitting data, this paper analyses the characteristics of these means, introduces GSM communication and GSM short messaging service(SMS).

With the GSM cellular engine embeded into the measurement and control system and specially designed software and hardware, the wireless computer measurement and control system that utilizes GSM communication net to transfer and receive instructions and data settles the above problems completely.
