山砀镇位于乐安县境最北部，距县城25公里，全镇土地面积130平方米公里，耕地面积3.1万亩，水域面积3000多亩。下辖13个村委会、1个居委会、124个村小组，总人口2.2万人，其中农业人口2.1万人。山砀镇地域辽阔，资源丰富，交通便捷，是乐安通往南昌、抚州之要塞。全镇各项设施齐全，村村通公路。2005年以来，镇党委政府紧紧围绕“烤烟兴农、土地聚财、三产活商、引资创税、环境塑镇、亲民稳镇”的发展战略，努力做好各项工作。农业生产以优质稻和烤烟为主，种植优质稻3000余亩，烤烟1405亩，果园面积达1500余亩，生猪年出栏1万余头；小（二）型以上水库15座，水面养殖水产品达10万余吨。全镇拥有个私企业30余家，其中粮食加工企业20多家。小城镇建设已具雏形，旧城改造1300平方米，新建商品房3000平方米，农贸市场扩容2185平方米。
