   用于测量直流电压、交流电压的机械式指示电表(见电流表)。分为直流电压表和交流电压表。前者主要采用磁电系电表(利用载流线圈与永久磁铁的磁场相互作用而使可动部分偏转的电表)和静电系电表(利用电极间静电场的能量使可动带电金属电极受力而偏转的电表)的测量机构。磁电系电压表由小量程的磁电系电流表与串联电阻器(又称分压器)组成。最低量程十几毫伏。要扩大量程,可增大分压器的电阻值。用几个电阻组成的分压器与测量机构串联,可构成多量程电压表。交流电压表主要采用整流式电表、电磁系电表、电动系电表和静电系电表的测量机构。除静电系电压表外,其他各系电压表都是用小量程电流表与分压器串联而成 。静电系电压表的最低量程约为 30 伏,而最高量程可达500 千伏 。电力系统中用的高压电压表是由电压额定量程为100伏的电磁系电压表结合适当电压变比的电压互感器组成。因受测量机构线圈电感的限制,电磁系、电动系电压表的使用频率范围较窄,上限频率低于1~2千赫。静电系和热电系电压表的使用频域较宽。整流式电压表的使用频率上限约几千赫,但仅当交流电压为正弦波形时,整流式电压表的读数才正确。
