【来源】
为牻牛儿苗科植物熏倒牛的果实。
【植物形态】
熏倒牛 一年生草本，高30～150厘米，全体有棕褐色腺毛和白色短柔毛。根直立，细圆柱状，红褐色。叶互生，长7～26厘米，宽4～16厘米，矩圆状倒披针形，向基部渐狭，3回羽状分裂；小裂片条状披针形，尖头，长约1厘米，宽1～2毫米，两面有疏微柔毛；叶柄长达10厘米，有腺毛和短柔毛。圆锥花序顶生，长达40厘米；花小，黄色，多数；萼片卵形，短渐尖，长4～5毫米；花瓣淡黄色，倒卵形，略短于萼片，顶端波状。蒴果不开裂，成热时果瓣不向上反卷。种子近肾形。 生于路旁、山坡、田埂等较干燥之处。分布新疆、甘肃、青海、西藏等地。
【采集】
果实成热时采收。
【性味】
辛，凉。
【功用主治】
清热镇痉。
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～10枚。
【选方】
①预防感冒：狼尾巴蒿果十枚，贯众三钱。水煎服。 ②治小儿高热惊厥：狼尾巴蒿果三至十枚，茯茶一钱。煎水，加红糖少许，取上清液加烧红灶心土适量服。 ③治腹胀，腹痛：狼尾巴蒿果五枚。煎汤当茶饮。
