  恢复系数e值的范围是:0≤e≤1。按e值的大小,碰撞可分为三类:
  
  ① 弹性碰撞(0<e<1)  实际碰撞一般都属这一类。碰撞物体的动能因引起振动而失散,物体的变形不能完全恢复,或伴有内阻引起的能量损失。
  
  ② 完全弹性碰撞(e=1) 碰撞后,物体完全恢复原形,能量无损失。在宏观现象中,这是不可能达到的理想情况;在微观现象中,则有完全弹性碰撞,例如分子间的碰撞有完全弹性的,也有非完全弹性的。
  
  ③ 非弹性碰撞(e=0) 碰撞物体的变形不能恢复,其相对动能全部损失,碰撞后两物体合成一体运动而不分开。
